I have always been an entrepreneur. After graduating from Radford University in 1990 with a B.S. in Economics, I started my first business, Barnacle Jim’s Boat Service, which specialized in the cleaning and detailing of boats. The business transitioned quickly to auto detailing and then to aircraft cleaning by 1994. Changing the name to Sharp Details, I began to focus on growing the aviation side of my business. Known in the aviation industry as the premier company of its kind, Sharp Details now has over seventy employees operating in eight states from south Florida to Connecticut. Varying my business interests, I also speak, provide business consulting, and have been a regular guest lecturer at Georgetown University. In March of 2010, I published my first book, author, publishing his first book, The Practical Guide to Exceptional Living. I also serve on the board as the membership chairman for both the GWBAA (Greater Washington Business Aviation Association) and WAMA (Westchester Aviation Maintenance Association). I enjoy spending time with my wife and high school sweetheart, Carrie, and our four children, Bayley, Ellie, Jack, and Benjamin as well surfing and golfing regularly.
In July of 2006, I started with Sharp Details as the Operations Manager, taking on the role of managing all the day-to-day activity for the company. On a daily basis, I am involved with the streamlining of processes, product improvement, and maintaining the highest level of customer satisfaction. I was promoted to Vice President of Operations in 2009. Prior to working for Sharp Details, I held a management position for 15 years for the United Parcel Service, working in several different departments throughout my career. Today, I have the privilege of working with some of the most highly skilled employees in the industry that continue to deliver the top standard in aviation cleaning. Aside from working, I enjoy coaching my son and daughter’s lacrosse and basketball teams and skiing and golfing with my family.
I have been with Sharp Details since 2001. I have over thirty years of experience as a Corporate Controller or Chief Financial Officer with companies including a wholesale distributor and a government contractor. During this time, I have been responsible for establishing accounting procedures, cash flow management, contract pricing proposals, negotiating and maintaining borrowing relationships with leading institutions, internal financial reporting, compliance with multi-state and federal agencies, and supervising accounting staffs of up to ten people. Aside from managing Sharp Details’ finances, I enjoy traveling.
I joined the Sharp Details team in 2017 after 32 years in the aviation maintenance, safety, and operations field, with the latter 22 years in positions such as Director of Maintenance, Safety Director, and Director of Flight Operations. I’m a licensed FAA A&P mechanic, a Flight Safety International Master Technician, and a formally trained safety manager and auditor with IS-BAO, BARS, HAI-MSS, ISO, and ARGUS auditor certifications. My greatest passion outside of work is spending time with my wife and our two grown boys and their families. I also enjoy surfing, home improvement projects, and tinkering with “our” (aka: my wife’s) 1971 Dodge Challenger. Originally drawn to Sharp Details by their tireless pursuit of excellence, I continue to be impressed by the exceptional people here, and the commitment to safety and quality at all levels of the organization. As we continue raising the bar higher than anyone else in our field, I’m privileged to have a primary role of effectively managing our SMS, and to foster an environment where all of our employees actively participate to help us continually improve the quality and safety of our product, our processes, and our customers’ satisfaction.
I have worked in the aviation industry since 2009 detailing and refurbishing aircraft. I joined Sharp Details Management Team in 2014 as the Southeast Regional Manager responsible for overall operations and business development. My passion and love of aircraft have driven me to grow and build a very successful career in aviation. Not many people get to say they have the chance to step inside a multi-million dollar aircraft on a daily basis. I still say I have one of the coolest jobs around. Sharp Details has changed the way I see aviation, Sharp Details is an industry leading company based on its philosophy’s, and techniques, and how we go about protecting our team, the aircraft, and our surroundings. I am very proud to be a member of this team.

Working in the private aviation and FBO business since 2008, my Operations Management experience has been honed working closely with our pilots/clients, and adhering to the foremost level of professionalism they require. When not overseeing the high standards set by Sharp Details, I enjoy Big 10 Football – Go Michigan Wolverines and closer to home, rooting for The Carolina Panthers. Coming to work for Sharp Details at their Savannah Location was a bit like coming home, originally hailing from Fort Stewart. I’m fortunate that weather here in the Southeast also lets me indulge in my other passion – golf!
For my entire adult life I have been detailing cars and motorcycles as both a hobby and a business and love all things mechanical. After 11 years of working in production with Pfizer I realized it was time for a change. I started with Sharp Details in March of 2007 and have fallen in love with the aviation industry. Polishing brightwork is my specialty and the great team that I lead, keeps customers coming back for more. My hobbies include detailing motorcycles, motorcycle riding, playing video games with my kids, remote control cars/trucks, bicycle riding with my family, going to zoos, aquariums, and amusement parks. I am blessed with two wonderful children (1-boy and 1-girl) whom I love with all my heart and would do anything to keep them smiling. I have also been married to my soul mate since 1998 and she supports me and gets me through each and every day.
I have been in the detailing industry since 1996, and have worked in aviation since 1999. Starting in aviation detailing as a service tech, I have moved my way up through the ranks as a lead tech, assistant manager, and currently work as a site manager for the IAD location in Virginia. In that time, I have learned how to speak to the aircraft, at least that’s what my team tells me. I just know how to treat the aircraft by just looking at and touching the plane. During my time with Sharp Details, my expertise has been making our clients smile when we are done with their aircraft. My hobbies include listening to music, playing games with my kids, and watching movies with my family. I’ve been married to my wife, Tanida, since 2003, and we have three wonderful children, Justin, Jaelynn, and Jordan.

I came to the US in 2003 to spend the summer with family in Westchester, NY and I fell in love with this land. A few months later I found myself working in the construction field and going to ESL classes at night to learn the language. Two years later, with this goal achieved, I met my beautiful wife Karen and we have been blessed with two lovely girls, Paulina and Cristina, who we love very much. My story with the Sharp Details organization started back in 2010 when I decided to make a career change. Starting as Assistant Manager in the Westchester location, I gained a lot of experience and helped in the growth that site. A few years later, my family and I decided to make a big move to West Palm Beach Florida, where I transferred to our PBI location and continued to gain experience in the field and with the company, as Assistant Manager,. And now, most recently, as a promotion opportunity with Sharp Details became available, we moved once more, landing in Philadelphia, PA, where I hold the position of Site Manager. My whole family loves it here! I’m very excited to take Sharp Details as high as possible with my dedication and passion for what I do. After all, nothing makes me happier than being rewarded with the compliment, “Job well done! ”

In 2000, I became the Manager of Highway Safety and Maintenance for the Pocahontas Parkway in Richmond VA. Since starting with Sharp Details in 2009 I have found it as close to working in a family business as can be. From the top down, we all have a respect for each other and honestly care about one another. At Sharp Details we all have this need to satisfy our customers and to “wow” the aviation world with our work. Married since 1990, my wife and I have two wonderful children and we enjoy boating, water skiing and show cars.
